10 Session Tips for Authentic Photos

10 Session Tips for Authentic Photos

While you wonderful just the way you are, you want to set your photos up for success.

1. Schedule a sessioncontact us to discuss what you're interested in. We have the famous Fresno County Blossom Trail, Kearney Park, Woodward Park and Fresno’s Downtown as excellent locations for portraits.

2. Prepare a mood board, Pinterest is an excellent way to find a variety of looks and poses you want to emulate.

3. Coordinate your clothing and accessories. Simple solid colors work well. You don't want floral, stripes, and prints to distract from your face. You are likely to have full body shots, so consider your footwear as well.

4. Avoid scheduling during nap times. Prepare snacks, wipies, and combs for little children. Try to avoid snacks that get your teeth gunky. Consider incentives for kids when they are done.

(We let our kids play on the tablet after their turn).

5. If you are showing ankles, wrists, stomachs (maternity) etc. avoid wearing elastics or clothes that dig into your skin for at least an hour before.

6. Put on lotions an hour before, you don't want to be shiny.

7. Make sure haircuts are at least a week old.

8. Bring your own props or meaningful items for photos.

9. Feel free to practice your makeup and hair beforehand, an hour before photos is not a good time to get experimental.

10. Have fun! Smile!
